Every gift idea should start by thinking about the person you have to gift in mind. That’s right, start with who you are thinking about. For teddy bears, you should think about if you’re going to gift a relative, a friend or even a lover. When choosing the right teddy consider the meaning behind it first. By having a good grounding about what your gift’s meaning, you’ll better know how to select the right stuffed bear.
Think about the time of year
Obviously gifts can be given during a holiday or even a birthday. But, we’ve found people love receiving gifts randomly – out of the blue. And yes, studies have shown that it’s often those “unpredictable” acts of love that are seen as genuine emotions. So, plan ahead an ensure that you’re being “spontaneous.”
Know your teddy bears
There are several teddy bear manufacturers out there, one of the oldest is Gund who produces, wait for it, Gund bears. They’ve been one of the main producers of teddy bears and remain one of the most popular brands to date. They’ve been in production for over 110 years! That’s definitely older than some of our most elderly relatives. Ty teddy bears are the same producers of a tiny little outrageous fad you might recall – Beanie Babies. Ty bears are just as nice as those tiny collectables, only bigger and you could say their teddy bears are beary nice. And of course, there is Russ, a producer of a variety of different specialty products that can be found everywhere.
Varying sizes
Yes, stuffed bears can vary in size like their real-life counterparts. Stuffed bears of various sizes are known as small, medium and big teddy bear(s), don’t be afraid to mix-up your choices when choosing a gift. We’ve found that sometimes having a big teddy bear can be a great gift for virtually everyone. Stuffed animals are fun to have around and if you find the right one, double as pillows. Also, they’re great to squeeze for extra comfort.

ince, you’re in the market for stuffed bears, you might also want to know about an upcoming brand called Jellycat stuffed animals. It’s a delightful product which doesn’t fit into the normal categories of “teddy bear” because the stuffed animals are bright, playful and well designed. Jellycat is based in London, but they offer their products throughout the world. We’ve begun to really like their work, our favorite, so far, are the Jellycat truffles animal. They have a very friendly appeal to them and are creatively designed.

How do I wash my teddy bear?
I have a Russ brand teddy bear that I’ve had for over 5 years…and now he needs to be washed. Should I put him in the washer and drier or what?
I have put lots of stuffed animals in the washing machine. I have had no problems with it. If the type of material it is made of is questionable, let it air dry. Otherwise, I have put most of them into the drier as well. For example, toys such as care bears wash and dry nicely.
