How much are my barbie dolls worth?
I have two holiday barbies from 2004 and 2005.
The 2004 edition is unopened but there is a crack in the plastic.
The 2005 is the special edition bob mackie barbie in burgundy, unopened, and the packaging is nearly perfect.
Any doll that you buy will not be worth (about) over $10 more if it is still relatively recent. Holiday dolls are very easy to find online (even from the late ’80s) and buyers (collectors) will most likely not be willing to spend much on a doll that isn’t vintage (20+ years old), but even then, they probably wouldn’t consider seriously buying it because its still isn’t considered serious vintage even though its old (to us, they seem old, but considering how many editions are released, even ten years isn’t much).
My sister gave me a doll (Special Edition Barbie Yuletide Romance 1996) that was hers and even though its “old,” she isn’t worth much yet. I’m looking to buy the exact same one that I found online that is still in the box and in mint condition, and its only about $15 while other people are selling theirs for like $60, but experienced buyers know that it isn’t worth that much, mostly because they are not that rare.
Just hang on to your dolls, you will enjoy them many years from now, the longer you have a special/collector’s edition item, the more it will be worth (do not restore anything, it brings it down in value).
