He is supposed to came up with an idea of that big teddy bear for the first time. In 1903, he came up and presented a new toy popularly called Friend Petz in Leipzig Spring Toy Fair. Rupert, Sooty, Paddington and Pudsey made some wonderful toys which became enormously popular in the following years and made a huge amount of money for them.
There are also some other toy models that are popular with the name big teddy bear. These are also known as generic big teddy bears.
